HOMES: DESIGN : LOCAL LIFEThe Place. Edition
Magazine
People & Places in our Gympie RegionThis magazine was created from a simple idea: that every home, every place and every community has a story worth telling.
In a world that often moves too quickly, we wanted to create something slower. Something to leave on the coffee table, revisit over a morning coffee, and share with family and friends. A local publication that celebrates not only the homes that shape our region, but the people, places and lifestyle that make it feel like home
❋ Rich in CharacterThe Gympie Region is unlike anywhere else. From rolling countryside to the seaside and heritage townships to thriving local businesses, creative minds and hidden gems waiting to be discovered, it is a place rich in character, connection and possibility. It is a region where community still matters and where stories are woven into the fabric of everyday life.
❋ Collaborative EnergyThe Place is an independent, beautifully curated print publication celebrating the Gympie Region — its homes, design, architecture, people, makers, history and the little places that make living here special. Created to be picked up, slowed down with and kept on the coffee table.
No algorithms. No scrolling. Just good stories, on real pages.
EditionsFind The Place
The Place is free to pick up and distributed in carefully selected locations and local businesses throughout the Gympie Region.
We want each edition to find its way into the hands of people who love where they live — and perhaps help them discover something new about it along the way.

A Different Kind of Local Magazine
You won't find traditional paid editorial in The Place. If we feature a beautiful home, an interesting local, a maker, a business or a place we love, it's because we genuinely believe their story belongs in these pages.
We don't ask for marketing or advertising payments to be featured.
Instead, The Place is supported through a simple donation-based print model. Businesses, contributors and friends of The Place can choose to support an edition by donating towards the printing of 20, 50 or 100 copies. Those contributions simply help us print more magazines and place more copies throughout our region.
More copies. More local stories. More people discovering The Place.
Let's Create Something Together
We love thoughtful collaborations & beleive it is the heart of our local creatives, photographers, homeowners, designers, makers and businesses who share our love for the Gympie Region.
If you have an idea, want to contribute, or would simply like to support The Place, reach out.
You never know where a good story might lead.
